The circulation of euro banknotes and coins is monitored at the level of the euro area, which is understandable since the euro is the legal tender in 20 euro area member states. Presentations of the statistics on euro banknotes and coins in circulation are available in the form of tables and charts on the following European Central Bank’s website.

While euro banknotes are identical for all euro area member states, each member state may, within the approved quantities, mint and release circulation and commemorative euro coins with its national side.

The data in the table Overview of minted euro coins with the national side of the Republic of Croatia according to mint year show the minted quantities and denominations of circulation and commemorative coins with the Croatian national side according to mint years. Commemorative coins are only issued with the nominal value of €2. A maximum of two commemorative coins may be issued per calendar year.
