In cooperation with Zagrebačka banka d.d., the Croatian National Bank issued a commemorative 500 kuna gold coin and commemorative 200 and 100 kuna silver coins to mark the 900th anniversary of the Zagreb Diocese and the City of Zagreb.
Minted in uncirculated condition, the coins were released for sale on 9 September 1994.

The Decision on the issue and sale of commemorative gold and silver coins marking the 900th anniversary of the Zagreb Diocese and the City of Zagreb was published in the Official Gazette, Nos. 64/1994, 70/1994, 91/1994, 34/2010, 120/20101, 128/2012, 121/2016 and 109/2017.
The design of the 500 kuna gold coin is by the sculptor Damir Mataušić.
The design of the 200 kuna silver coin is by the sculptor Želimir Janeš.
The design of the 100 kuna silver coin is by the sculptor Zdravko Brkić.
These issues were minted by IKOM d.o.o., Zagreb.
The Croatian National Bank has contractually agreed with Zagrebačka banka d.d. Zagreb to carry out the promotion and sale of this issue. The coins are currently not available for sale.
