More than one thousand citizens attended CNB Open Doors Day

The Croatian National Bank today organised an Open Doors Day featuring workshops led by CNB experts and tours of the Round Hall, the main stock exchange hall of the former Zagreb Stock and Commodity Exchange, located in the central bank’s main building, which was designed by the famous Croatian architect Viktor Kovačić. Over ... citizens visited the CNB today. In addition to touring the Round Hall, they were also given an opportunity to attend educational workshops in order to learn how to manage money wisely, get a detailed look at euro banknotes and learn how to identify counterfeits.

They also had a chance to hear about the transfer of the European Central Bank monetary policy to Croatia and the money’s “journey” from design to recycling. Throughout the day, the youngest visitors enjoyed children’s workshops where they discovered all the secrets of the euro by examining euro banknotes and coins.

This event also included a meeting of the CNB Governor Boris Vujčić and the Deputy Governor Sandra Švaljek with students and interested citizens. The Governor held a lecture on monetary policy decision-making as well as on the functioning of the Governing Council of the European Central Bank and his role in that body, while the Deputy Governor gave a presentation on the digital euro. The lectures were followed by an interesting discussion whose participants showed a great deal of interest in the operation and activities of the CNB and Eurosystem.
