At its session today, the Croatian National Bank Council reviewed the most important indicators of economic and monetary developments over the previous period, which also provide the basis for the preparation of the monetary policy projection for 2007, as well as passed several decisions falling within its field of competence.
The CNB Council also endorsed the proposals of the supervisory boards of three banks for new management board appointments: the appointment of Ivan Purgar as chairman and Marko Gabela as a member of the management board of Croatia banka d.d. Zagreb, Samuele Fraizzoli as a member of the management board of Banka Sonic d.d. Zagreb, and the appointment of Lidija Hočurščak for the second term as chairperson of the management board of the Banka Kovanica d.d. Varaždin.
Members of the CNB Council granted the request by the Bank Austria Creditanstalt AG Vienna to take over majority ownership in Zagrebačka banka d.d. Zagreb. In reality, these changes represent only the changes within the UniCredit Group, the owner of both of these banks. Namely, as part of the ongoing reorganisation the majority of the Group's operations in the Central and Eastern Europe will be concentrated under the umbrella of BA-CA.
