As part of the Swedish State Visit to Croatia, a Swedish Business Delegation, headed by the CEO of Business Sweden, Ulf Berg, visited the Croatian National Bank today, where they were welcomed by Governor Boris Vujčić and other members of the central bank's management.
The delegation included high-level representatives of some twenty companies spanning different economic branches: from heavy-duty truck producers, companies representing the energy industry, security, medical and recreational equipment producers, companies offering engineering and consulting services to frozen-food producers, as well as representatives of various state agencies responsible for promoting activities to the overall economic and social development (for promoting exports, security and long-term infrastructure development, including road, railway, maritime and air transport, and maritime safety).
The Governor informed the guests about the current macroeconomic indicators and expected further developments, awarding special attention to the possible effects of Croatia's upcoming accession to the European Union on its economic and financial system.
The opportunities and challenges facing Croatia in the context of EU membership, as well as the possibilities of cooperation between Sweden and Croatia, and opportunities for business partnerships, will be further discussed at the afternoon seminar at the Westin Hotel, to be attended by representatives of Swedish and Croatian companies and high officials from relevant ministries of both countries, as well as by His Majesty King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden and President Ivo Josipović.
