IMF Executive Director, Dr. Jeroen J.M. Kremers, visited the Croatian National Bank today. As the head of the Dutch constituency comprising several countries including Croatia, Dr. Kremers represents Croatia's interests in this international financial organization. Mr. Kremers took office in the middle of January this year, so this is his first official visit to Croatia, primarily intended to help Dr. Kremers get a better insight into the country's economic and political situation.
Deputy Governor Dr. Vujčić and other central bank officials met with Dr. Kremers, informing him about recent indicators of economic activities and the situation in the financial sector, and about measures being taken by the Croatian National Bank to continue maintaining low inflation, exchange rate stability and soundness of the banking system.
During his three-day stay, Dr. Kremers will meet with the officials of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry for European Integration and visits to some financial institutions as well as institutions involved in scientific and research activities will also be organized. Dr. Kremers will also meet with the representatives of some non-governmental organizations.
