An International Monetary Fund mission, led by Ms Zuzana Murgasova, on Wednesday started a visit to Croatia, undertaken as part of regular consultations under Article IV of the IMF's Articles of Agreement, held annually with each IMF member country. The aim of the visit is for the mission to gain a direct and detailed insight into current economic and financial developments, as well as to be informed of monetary and fiscal policy projections for the forthcoming period and the measures to overcome the crisis and enable economic recovery.
The remainder of the visit, scheduled to last until 10 May, will include a number of talks to be held at the Croatian National Bank, Ministry of Finance and several large banks, with the representatives of employers and trade unions, at the HANFA, CCE, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Health, Institute of Economics, Institute of Public Finance and several other government institutions. Concluding talks with the CNB Governor Željko Rohatinski and the Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor are planned for the end of the visit.
