The Croatian National Bank issues a gold and silver numismatic coin to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the birth of Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić (1874-2024), a celebrated writer for children who has greatly enriched Croatian literature with her works. The works of Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić have been translated into many world languages, and the writer herself has been nominated twice for the Nobel Prize. The gold coin is issued in the 100 euro denomination and the silver coin is issued in the 4 euro denomination.
The coin design is by the sculptor Kuzma Kovačić.
“150th Anniversary of the Birth of Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić” gold and silver numismatic coins are released for sale on 22 April 2024. The issued quantity of the gold numismatic coin is limited at 150 pieces and the issued quantity of the silver numismatic coin is limited at 1,500 pieces.
The numismatic coins will be sold by the Croatian Mint. The initial selling price for the gold numismatic coin is expected to range around EUR 2,690.00 and the selling price for the silver numismatic coin is expected to range around EUR 55.99, VAT excluded. The selling price at the time of purchase will depend on the movement in the price of gold and silver in the open market.
