The Croatian National Bank will on 15 October 2024 release into circulation the commemorative 2-euro coin "Marko Marulić" to commemorate the year of Marko Marulić. The exchange of commemorative coins for the public will begin on 2 December 2024.
The motif on the commemorative coin features Marko Marulić, the Croatian writer, humanist and erudite, whose works have an exceptional relevance for the Croatian literature and the overall cultural heritage. The coin, designed by the sculptor Stjepan Divković and minted by the Croatian Mint, will be issued in the amount of 200,000 pieces, of which 50,000 pieces will be available for exchange to the public.
In addition to its numismatic significance, the commemorative euro coin also has the status of a circulation coin so that, as a rule, no fee is charged for its exchange. Thus, the commemorative 2-euro coin will also be available for purchase at the same value of 2 euros.
The euro coin will be available for purchase by registering to the CNB's commemorative coins pre-ordering system at the following link: prigodne-eurokovanice.hnb.hr from 9:00 a.m. on 15 October 2024 to 2 November 2024 until 4:00 p.m., or until the foreseen amount is exchanged.
A maximum of three (3) samples of the new commemorative coin will be available for purchase until the foreseen amount is exchanged.
Pre-ordered coins will be available for exchange from 2 December 2024, personally:
- at the cash desk of the Croatian National Bank (Jurišićeva 17, Zagreb, from Monday to Friday from 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.), free of charge;
