For the first time, the Croatian National Bank organized a regular meeting of the Supervisory Board of the European Central Bank (ECB), held on 11 and 12 May 2023 in Dubrovnik.
The Supervisory Board meets every three weeks to discuss, plan and implement the ECB's supervisory tasks, bringing together representatives of the ECB and of the supervisory authorities of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM), which includes all euro area Members States and Bulgaria. The Supervisory Board is chaired by Andrea Enria, and the Croatian National Bank is represented by Vice-Governor Tomislav Ćorić.
"It is a great honour to host the meeting of the ECB Supervisory Board here in Dubrovnik. Croatia and HNB are celebrating one of the most successful years that started with the introduction of euro and participation in Schengen area. Now, in both the Eurosystem and the SSM, HNB, with its rich experience in supervision, is fully dedicated to being a reliable and accountable partner," said the Governor of the Croatian National Bank, Boris Vujčić, addressing the members of the Supervisory Board.
Andrea Enria, the Chair of the Supervisory Board noted on this occasion: "It was a real pleasure and an honour to have our external meeting of the Supervisory Board in Dubrovnik, shortly after Croatia joined the monetary union and the single supervisory mechanism. The history of this city reminds us strongly of the bonds that unite us and the importance of our common values. We are very grateful to the Croatian National Bank for the warm welcome and impeccable organization of our meeting."
