Continuing its successful series of numismatic issues dedicated to the black lizard, the Croatian National Bank is issuing a new silver coin with a denomination of 6 euro minted in brilliant uncirculated condition and ultra high relief. The motif of this collector coin represents an endemic subspecies of the Brusnik karst lizard (Podarcis melisellensis melisellensis), an important part of the natural heritage of the Republic of Croatia, living on a small island of Brusnik, which has been protected as a geological natural monument since 1951. The author of the design of this silver coin is sculptor Nikola Vudrag.

The silver coin “Black Lizard” is issued in a quantity of maximum 400 pieces and will be available for purchase from 21 January 2025 from the Croatian Mint at the expected initial sales price of EUR 253,79, VAT included. The sales price at the time of purchase will depend on the price of silver on the open market.

For orders and purchases, see the website of the Croatian Mint.
